Future Plans
As I mentioned before, Canterbury will not start up again until March 14th at the earliest. Unfortunately the biggest question marks lying ahead aren't so much what I'll be doing with all that free time but rather I must look into considering another university to study at. This is really my last resort right now as Canterbury continues to state that a full academic year will still be provided to its students. TEAN has also continued to give us support and options in case I do take the transfer approach but they aren't making it mandatory to do so like so many other programs. For example I know of many friends that I've met so far were told to move to Auckland the day of the quake...No questions asked just pack up and go. I'm thankful that it wasn't handled that same way with me. As of now I plan on sticking it out here in Christchurch. I might not have the same travelling opportunities that others have however I have a real chance to help out and make a difference here through volunteer work. I feel like an opportunity like this will be just as enriching if not more so than seeing different parts of NZ.
