Last night I went to my first ever rugby game, between the Wellington Hurricanes and Auckland Blues. Although I didn't know the rules exactly I was able to follow along well enough to understand the scoring and general game play. Also it helped that whenever the crowd 'booed or cheered' we decided to go along with it and follow suit. Sadly the home-town hurricanes faltered in the end, losing on a 'goal-line stand' type effort by the Blues in the final seconds of the game. Overall it was a great experience and for only $20 and front row seats in the stadium it was well worth it. It does make me dream about how awesome Auckland will be later this year during the 2011 Rugby World Cup. I can't even imagine!
