First few days...
Had to be some of the hardest days so far for me...simply because I'm outside my comfort zone to the extent that everything seemed to be affecting me all at one time. I was worried about meeting people, always having to go grocery shopping, buying miscellaneous things like towels and nail clippers and on top of that trying to figure out my internet situation. It's all a part of the process though really that everyone eludes to as "culture shock". Everyone reacts to it or neglects to show it and I feel I did a pretty good job of that. Mostly I guess I'm just homesick for the moment, missing the simple comforts in life like who I'm eating with, where and what I'm eating, and of course a set schedule of working out, studying and hanging out with friends. It has gotten much easier however as I have already formed a great base of friends here who scatter across the northern hemisphere - this includes all over the states, Canada and even France. This is what studying abroad is all about though, breaking through your comfort zone and challenging yourself to see and learn new things that wouldn't have been possible had I stayed in the states.
